Commack Building Fire 02/05/2022

On Saturday, February 5th just before 7am the Commack Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a building fire on Jericho Turnpike. Chief of Department Keane [2-11-30] was quickly on scene and transmitted a working fire with fire showing from the front of a Masonry & Landscaping building. Engine 2-11-2 was first due and stretched the initial line to begin extinguishing the fire which was found on the 2nd floor of the building. At least 3 lines were stretched and placed into operation to extinguish the fire in approximately 45 minutes with the assistance of crews from Dix Hills, Greenlawn, Kings Park, and East Northport. Extensive overhaul was conducted by crews on scene including utilizing 2 master streams to extinguish hot spots. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
