North Amityville Trailer Home Fire 06/20/2022

On Monday, June 20th at approximately 8:25p, the North Amityville Fire Department was dispatched to a reported house fire in the vicinity of Cherokee Ct. 2nd Assistant Chief McLeod [1-7-32] was immediately on the road and advised he had a large column of smoke visible from a distance. Upon arrival, 2 trailers were found on fire in the Frontier Trailer Park on Pawnee Ct and a Working Fire was transmitted. Engine 1-7-1 was first due and stretched the initial line to begin extinguishing the fire. In total, at least 4 lines were stretched and placed into operation to extinguish the fire in both trailers. With the assistance of crews from East Farmingdale, South Farmingdale, Farmingdale, Copiague, and North Lindenhurst, the fire was placed under control in approximately 1 hour with extensive overhaul conducted. The cause of the fire is under investigation. All operations were under the direction of Chief of Department Nelson [1-7-30].
