North Amityville House Fire 03/17/2021

On Wednesday March 17th at approximately 1:15a, the North Amityville Fire Company was dispatched to a reported house fire on North Somerset Rd. Chief of Department Nelson [1-7-30], 3rd Assistant Chief McLeod [1-7-33] and Engine 1-7-1 were quickly on the road and advised of multiple calls reporting a house fire. Engine 1-7-1 was first due and transmitted a working fire for confirmed active fire in the rear of a house which was vacant from 2 previous fires last year. 2 lines were stretched off 1-7-1 to quickly extinguish the fire with overhaul completed the assistance of mutual aid crews from Amityville, North Lindenhurst and Copiague.
