Westbury Car vs Building 04/22/2021

On Thursday, April 22nd at 7:20p, the Westbury Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a car vs building with people trapped on Post Ave. Captain Mercadante [9605] was quickly on the scene and confirmed the car into the building with 1 person pinned. The vehicle traveled off the Northern State Parkway exit ramp, across Post Ave, through a guardrail and down an embankment into the building. Rescue 964 was quickly on scene and along with NCPD ESU, worked to extricate the driver from the vehicle. The driver, who suffered a medical emergency, was extricated in approximately 10 minutes and transported by ambulance to a local trauma center with unknown injuries.
