Hicksville Double House Fire 03/31/2016
On Thursday, March 31st, 2016 at approximately 3:15pm, the Hicksville Fire Department responded to a report of 2 houses on fire with a report of people trapped on Alpine Ln. Plainview Engine 1 Lieutenant Rossi and East Farmingdale Firefighter Manofsky were in the area and noticed heavy smoke. They both arrived on scene and made entry into the house to assist in the removal of an occupant. A Hicksville Lieutenant was first on scene and requested a Signal 10 be transmitted for heavy fire in 2 neighboring houses. 1st Assistant Chief Telender Jr. [9302] quickly arrived on scene and requested a 2nd Alarm be transmitted for 2 structures on fire. Multiple departments were requested to the scene to assist Hicksville in extinguishing this fire. The fire was finally placed under control as a 4 Alarm Fire.
