Manhasset-Lakeville Apartment Fire 12/30/2021

On Thursday, December 30th at 9:48p, the Manhasset-Lakeville Fire Department was dispatched to a reported building fire on Clent Rd. Returning from a mutual aid fire in Kings Point, Companies 3, 4 & 6 were on scene within minutes and a Signal 10 was transmitted with heavy fire out the 1st floor rear windows of a 3-story apartment building. Engine 8734 stretched the initial line to begin extinguishing the fire while Ladder 8744 searched for trapped occupants and fire extension. With the assistance of crews from New Hyde Park, Great Neck Vigilant, Great Neck Alert, and Albertson, at least 2 lines were stretched to extinguish the fire while multiple occupants were evacuated from the building by firefighters. At least 9 occupants were evaluated by EMS on scene and 3 people were transported to the hospital in unknown condition. The fire was placed under control in approximately 45 minutes with extensive overhaul and ventilation conducted. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
