Great Neck Alert Building Fire 08/22/2021

On Sunday, August 22nd at 10:35a, in the middle of Tropical Storm Henri, the Great Neck Alert Fire Company was dispatched to a report of a building fire on East Shore Rd. Simultaneously, Manhasset Lakeville Commissioner Morris [8707] was passing the location and notified his dispatch of a working building fire at the location. Alert Chief of Department Neubert [829] arrived quickly on scene and transmitted a Signal 10 for fire in a 2 story medical office building. Engine 824 was first due and stretched the initial line to begin extinguishing the fire. In total, 3 lines were stretched to extinguish the fire with the assistance of crews from Great Neck Vigilant and Manhasset Lakeville. 1 civilian burn victim and 1 civilian smoke inhalation victim were transported to local hospitals in unknown condition. The fire was placed under control in under 1 hour with the cause of fire under investigation.
