Uniondale House Fire 04/09/2023

On Sunday April 9th just after 1:30a, the Uniondale Fire Department was dispatched to a reported house fire on Larboard Ct. 1st Assistant Chief Ellerbe [7501] quickly arrived on scene finding fire in the rear of the house and a Signal 10 was transmitted. Ladder 7544 was first due and began searches while Engine 752 stretched the first line to begin extinguishing the fire. Encountering heavy fire on the 2nd floor, at least 2 lines were stretched and placed into operation to extinguish the main body of fire. With the assistance of crews from North Bellmore, Hempstead, Roosevelt, and Freeport, the fire was placed under control in approximately an hour with extensive overhaul conducted by crews on scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
