Uniondale House Fire 12/28/2020

On Monday December 28th at 6:20p, the Uniondale Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a house fire on Cunningham Ave. 1st Assistant Chief Martinez [7501] was first to arrive on scene and transmitted a Signal 10 for fire showing from the basement window of the house. Engine 7533 was first due and stretched the initial line through the basement stairs to begin to attack the fire. The fire was raised to a 2nd alarm due to the difficult to access basement fire which also extended to the 1st floor. During suppression efforts, units encountered a floor collapse. No members were injured in the collapse. The fire was placed under control in under 2 hours with at least 3 lines placed into operation.
