Roosevelt House Fire 02/26/2022

On Saturday, February 26th just after 2p, the Roosevelt Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a house fire on Westfield Ave. 2nd Assistant Chief Dawkins [7302] arrived on scene and transmitted a Signal 10 (working fire) with fire showing from the 2nd floor of the house. Engine 733 was first due and stretched the initial line to begin extinguishing the fire. In total, 3 lines were placed into operation to extinguish the fire with the assistance of crews from Freeport, Hempstead, Merrick, North Merrick, Uniondale and Baldwin. The fire was placed under control in approximately 45 minutes. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
