Roosevelt House Fire 12/27/2017
Today at approximately 3:45pm, the Roosevelt Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a house fire. 1st Assistant Chief Wint [7301] was immediately on the road and advised by Firecom that there were possibly children trapped and they were receiving multiple calls for this fire. With this report, Chief Wint immediately transmitted a Signal 10 (Working Fire) first arriving units confirmed a working fire on the 2nd floor.
All occupants were safely out of the house prior to Fire Department arrival. Engine 733 was first due and began an interior attack on the fire. The fire was quickly extinguished with 2 lines stretched and one placed into operation. Mutual Aid was requested to the scene from North Merrick Fire Department, Uniondale Fire Department and Hempstead Fire Department. The fire was quickly placed under control with extensive overhaul.
