Funeral for Michael "Biggs" James 12/29/2020

On Tuesday December 29th, the James Family, the Hempstead Fire Department, the Nassau County Firecom, and the Nassau County Fire Service paid their final respects to Michael “Biggs” James. A well known voice on the airwaves of Nassau County, Biggs was a full time dispatcher for Nassau County Firecom (#63), the Bethpage Fire Department (#19) and Former FDNY Dispatcher 195. Biggs was also a dispatcher for Plainview FD, Manhasset-Lakeville FD, Syosset FD, Baldwin FD, Hempstead Fire Alarm Central and Hempstead PD. Departments from all across Nassau County provided over 15 flag arches from the Shiloh Baptist Church in Rockville Centre to the Nassau Coliseum where over 100 firefighters stood outside to watch the services remotely and stood in line to pay their final respects to Biggs as he passed through the parking lot of the Nassau Coliseum with the 7th Inning Stretch played by New York Yankees Organist & South Hempstead Fire Commissioner Paul Cartier.
