Franklin Square & Munson Garage Fire 12/27/2020

On Sunday December 27th at 1:00p, the Franklin Square & Munson Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a garage fire on 7th St. Chief of Department Labianca [7100] was quickly on the scene and transmitted a Signal 10 for a detached garage fire. Engine 716 was first due and stretched the initial line to the garage to begin extinguishing the fire. Upon arrival, units encountered an explosion from the garage which is believed to have been from propane tanks. The fire was placed under control in under 30 minutes with at least 3 lines placed into operation. Nassau County Fire Marshal’s Hazmat Team was requested due to leaking propane tanks.
