Elmont House Fire 01/10/2023

On Tuesday, January 10th just before 3:15p, the Elmont Fire Department was dispatched to a reported house fire on Foster Ave. Chief of Department Santina [7010] quickly arrived on scene to find active fire on the 1st and 2nd floors of a 2 story home and a Signal 10 was transmitted. Engine 703 was first due and stretched the initial line to begin extinguishing the fire. With the assistance of crews from Valley Stream, Malverne, Lakeview, South Floral Park, and Lawrence-Cedarhurst, at least 4 lines were stretched and placed into operation to extinguish the main body of fire and conduct extensive overhaul on the house. The fire was placed under control in approximately 1 hour with the cause of the fire under investigation.
