Elmont House Fire 05/05/2022

On Thursday, May 5th at approximately 6:20a, the Elmont Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a house fire on Lehrer Ave. Just 2 houses across the street from the firehouse, Ladder 708 transmitted a Signal 10 with fire in a second floor bedroom. Engine 703 quickly arrived on scene and stretched 1 line to quickly extinguish the fire. The scene was placed under control in approximately 20 minutes under the direction of Chief of Department Santina [7010]. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
