Elmont House Fire 02/21/2022

On Monday, February 21st just after 1p, the Elmont Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a house fire on Schenck Blvd. 3rd Assistant Chief Lukas [7013] was quickly on scene and transmitted a Signal 10 with fire showing from the 2nd floor. Engine 703 was first due and stretched the initial line to the 2nd floor to begin extinguishing the fire. The main body of fire was quickly knocked down with 2 lines stretched. With the assistance of crews from Franklin Square, Lakeview and Valley Stream, the fire was placed under control in approximately 30 minutes. The cause of the fire is under investigation. All operations were under the direction of Chief of Department Conti [7010].
