Elmont House Fire 05/10/2020

On Sunday May 10th at just before 10:30p, the Elmont Fire Department was dispatched to a reported basement fire on Downing Rd. 2nd Assistant Chief Dupoux [7012] quickly arrived on scene and transmitted a Signal 10 (working fire) for a confirmed basement fire. Engine 703 was first due and stretched the initial line to extinguish the fire. During searches, the fire was found to have extended from the basement to the 1st floor and was quickly extinguished without any further spread. The fire was placed under control in approximately 30 minutes with at least 2 lines placed into operation.
