East Meadow House Fire 08/18/2022

On Thursday, August 18th at Just after 7p, the East Meadow Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a house fire on North Jerusalem Rd. East Meadow Chiefs were quickly on scene with smoke from the 2nd floor of the 2-story split and a Signal 10 was transmitted. Engine 612 was first due and stretched the initial line to begin to extinguish the fire which was located in the attic of the house. A total of 2 lines were stretched and placed into operation to extinguish the fire. The main body of fire was quickly knocked down by crews on scene with the fire being placed under control in approximately 45 minutes with the assistance of a FAST from North Bellmore. The cause of the fire is under investigation. All operations were under the direction of Chief of Department Cheswick [6100].
