East Meadow House Fire 01/19/2021

On Tuesday January 19th at approximately 1:50a, the East Meadow Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a house fire on Chambers Ave. An Ex-Chief in the area advised dispatch he had heavy smoke from the roof and recommended a Signal 98 (smoke showing). Chief of Department Walsh [6100] was quickly on the scene and Transmitted a Signal 10 (working fire) for confirmed fire in the attic of a 1 story house. Engine 612 was first due and stretched the initial attack lines to begin extinguishing the fire. At least 3 lines were stretched and placed into operation to extinguish the fire which was placed under control in approximately 1 hour.
