Bellmore Overturned Truck 08/04/2021

On Wednesday, August 5th at 11:00p, the Bellmore Fire Department was dispatched to a reported overturn truck with entrapment on Sunrise Highway in the vicinity of Applebees. Units quickly arrived on scene to find an overturned roofing truck which had struck a parked tow truck and a parked roll-off truck. The driver of the overturned truck self extricated prior to Fire Department arrival and was transported to a local hospital. The force of the accident caused the saddle tank of the truck to rip off and reportedly released over 50 gallons of fuel. Nassau County Hazmat was requested to the scene to secure the saddle tank.
