Syosset 5th Alarm House Fire 07/24/2021

On Saturday July 24th at 12:09a, the Syosset Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a house fire on Pleasant Ln in Oyster Bay Cove. 3rd Assistant Chief Sauberman [5803] was first on scene and transmitted a Signal 10 which was quickly increased to a 2nd alarm with heavy fire from the rear of the house. First due crews began an interior attack on the fire and quickly encountered a collapse within the building. As the fire intensified, the fire quickly escalated to a 5th Alarm with numerous departments being called to assist. With the use of multiple master streams and numerous hand lines placed into operation, the main body of fire was knocked down in approximately 1.5 hours with extensive overhaul conducted by all crews on scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
