Roslyn Building Fire 11/27/2017
On Monday, November 27th, at 16:21hrs, the Roslyn Rescue Fire Company & Roslyn Highlands Volunteer Fire Co. were dispatched to a report of a building fire in the vicinity of Old Northern Blvd and Lumber Rd. Chiefs from both Departments were quickly on the road and advised by a member on scene that they had fire on the roof of the Roslyn Grist Mill, an early 18th Century historical building and a Signal 10 (Working Fire) was transmitted. One line was stretched of Roslyn Highlands Quint 595 and placed into operation from an adjacent roof. The fire was quickly extinguished with minimal damage to the building.
Mutual aid was requested to the scene from the Port Washington Fire Department and the Glenwood H&L, E&H, Co., Inc. The fire was placed under control in under 20 minutes.
