Roslyn 3rd Alarm House Fire 11/21/2022

On Monday, November 20th at approximately 4:40a, the Roslyn Rescue & Roslyn Highlands Fire Companies were dispatched to a report of smoke in the basement on Oakdale Rd in Roslyn Heights. Highlands 1st Assistant Chief Unger [5901] quickly arrived on scene finding fire in the basement of a split-level house extending upstairs and a Signal 10 was transmitted. Quint 598 was first due and stretched the initial line into the basement to locate and extinguish the main body of fire. Due to clutter conditions, the alarm was raised to a 2nd alarm and subsequently a 3rd alarm for relief. At least 4 lines were stretched and placed into operation to extinguish the main body of fire with extensive overhaul conducted with the assistance of crews from Albertson, Mineola, Port Washington, Glenwood, Westbury, Sea Cliff, Locust Valley, Williston Park and Carle Place. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
