Roslyn 4th Alarm House Fire 12/07/2019
On Saturday, December 7th at just before 9am, the Roslyn Rescue & Roslyn Highland Fire Companies were dispatched to a report of a house fire in Old Westbury. Roslyn Rescue Asst. Chief Collura [5602] and Roslyn Highlands Asst. Chief Unger [5902] were quickly on the road and Chief Collura began the working fire procedure while enroute as he had a visible column of smoke from a distance. Chief Unger quickly arrived on scene and confirmed a Signal 10 with fire on all floors. Roslyn Highlands Quint 598 and Westbury Engine 968 quickly arrived on scene and attempted an interior attack but went defensive due to a heavy fire load. The fire quickly rose to a 4th Alarm with over 5 lines, Tower Ladders and Portable Deck Guns placed into operation. Units operated on scene for over 9 hours to extinguish the fire.
