GCEMS Explorer Post 1072 Installation Dinner
On Saturday April 19th, 2014, the City of Glen Cove Volunteer EMS Explorer Post #1072 held their first annual Installation of Officers. Although the Explorer Post has been around since 2002, this is the first year the officers and members of the Explorer Post have been installed at their own dinner. The members of the Explorer Post were joined by their families, elected officials and members of Glen Cove EMS to celebrate their accomplishments.
The Explorer Program is a division of the Boy Scouts of America and provides participants ages 14-18 with education and experience in various careers. Members of Explorer Post #1072 are trained in CPR, basic first aid, and learn how to work on an ambulance. Numerous members of Explorer Post #1072 have gone on to become members of Glen Cove EMS.
