Glen Cove House Fire 06/07/2022

On Tuesday, June 7th at approximately 2:10p, the City of Glen Cove Fire Department was dispatched to a reported House Fire on Dickson St. Receiving multiple calls and a confirmation from Police, 1st Assistant Chief Grella [5201] and 2nd Assistant Chief Valeo [5202] quickly arrived on scene and a Signal 10 was transmitted followed immediately by a second alarm with Heavy fire in a 2.5 story 2-family house. Engine 525 was first due and stretched the initial line to begin extinguishing the fire. With the assistance of crews from Sea Cliff, Locust Valley, Glenwood, Roslyn, East Norwich, Bayville and Oyster Bay, the fire was placed under control in 75 minutes with a total of 4 lines placed into operation and extensive overhaul conducted. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
