Glen Cove 2nd Alarm House Fire 11/17/2020

On Tuesday, November 17th at 3:15p, the Glen Cove Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a house fire on Edwards Ln. 2nd Assistant Chief Grella [5202] was quickly on the road and upon his arrival, transmitted a Signal 10 for a large volume of fire showing from the rear of the house. Engine 525 was first due and stretched the initial attack line to begin extinguishing the fire. The fire was quickly upgraded to a 2nd alarm with fire on all floors and trapped in the knee walls of the attic. It took at least 4 lines in operation to extinguish the fire which was placed under control in approximately 1 hour. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the Nassau County Fire Marshals Office.
