Glen Cove Car Fire 02/27/2016

On Saturday, February 27th, 2016 at 7:35pm, the City of Glen Cove Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a car fire in the garage at the Avalon on Glen St. Chief Grella [5200] was the first responding unit and was advised by dispatch that a Roslyn Rescue Firefighter was on scene confirming a car fire in the garage. Chemical Company Engine 529 and Chief Grella arrived on scene quickly after and the crew of 529 entered the garage to extinguish the fire which was contained to one car and did not extend to the structure. Due to the garage being below the residential floors, a large amount of ventilation was required to clear smoke from the residential areas.
