Glen Cove Fire Department Recruitment Drive 2014
On Sunday April 13th, 2014, the City of Glen Cove Volunteer Fire Department hosted its 3rd annual recruitment drive in conjunction with the “RecruitNY 2014” campaign organized by the Firemen’s Association of the State of New York (FASNY). Since 2010, FASNY has worked with volunteer fire departments across the State of New York to hold open houses in the month of April with the goal of educating the public about the volunteer fire service and recruiting new members into the volunteer fire service.
The Glen Cove Fire Department has participated in this event for the past 3 years, providing tours of the firehouse and its apparatus and educating the community in the many aspects of firefighting. Since the Glen Cove Fire Department began participating in RecruitNY, membership in the department has significantly increased above its previous levels.
