Glen Cove Fire Prevention & Open House 10/19/2014

On October 19th, 2014, the City of Glen Cove Volunteer Fire Department hosted their annual Fire Prevention & Open House at the Glen Cove Fire House. Every year, the department opens its doors to the community to educate the public on various topics related to fire prevention and fire safety. Various demonstrations including an oven fire, rappelling, car extrication, propane burn off, and a "house" fire were performed at todays event. Joseph Whittaker and his K9 partner Umi were also in attendance and provided an accelerant detection demonstration for the community as well as an explanation of the role of the Nassau County Fire Marshal's Office.
