Glen Cove Car vs Pole 07/09/2014
On July 9th, 2014 at 9:32 pm, the City of Glen Cove Fire Department and City of Glen Cove EMS were dispatched to a report of a car into a pole on Dosoris Ln. Upon arrival, GCEMS 2nd Assistant Chief Matthew Venturino (Car 3) and GCFD Pacific Company Captain Andrew Melillo (1-0) confirmed a car vs tree with a single patient that self extricated.
Upon further inspection of the scene, it was found that the vehicle struck an electric pole next to the tree causing the pole to shear from the ground and split below the transformer leaving the transformer and wires hanging freely in the air. Glen Cove EMS transported 1 patient from the scene.
All EMS operations were under the command of Chief Thomas Kenary (Car 1) and all Fire Department operations were under the command of Chief Joseph Solomito (5200).
