Lawrence-Cedarhurst House Fire 08/04/2021

On Wednesday, August 4th at approximately 12:45a, the Lawrence-Cedarhurst Fire Department was dispatched to a reported house fire on Madison Ave in Cedarhurst. Chief of Department Foy [3200] was quickly on scene and transmitted a Signal 10 (working fire) for heavy fire in the top floor of a 3-story house. Engine 323 was first due and stretched the initial line into the house to begin extinguishing the fire. In total, 4 lines were stretched to extinguish the fire with the assistance of crews from Hewlett, Inwood, Woodmere, Long Beach, Meadowmere Park, and Valley Stream. The fire was placed under control in just under 1 hour with the cause of the fire under investigation.
