Hewlett House Fire 06/01/2020
On Monday, June 1st shortly after 12:30a, the Hewlett Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a house fire on Durham Rd. Chief of Department Lewin [3010] arrived on scene to find fire on the outside of the garage and with the assistance of NCPD Police officers & Medics began evacuating the house. Upon initial searches, fire was found in the attic of the house and a Signal 10 (working fire) was transmitted. Engine 302 was first due and stretched the initial line to begin extinguishing the fire. At least 2 lines were stretched and place into operation to extinguish the fire. The fire was placed under control in under 1 hour with the cause of the fire under investigation by the Nassau County Fire Marshal’s Office.
