Freeport House Fire 05/22/2022

On Sunday, May 22nd at approximately 3:20p, the Freeport Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a basement fire on Wilson Pl. Units quickly arrived on scene to find active fire in the basement of the residence and a Signal 10 was transmitted. Engine 216 was first due and stretched the first of two lines into the basement to begin extinguishing the main body of fire. With the assistance of crews from Merrick, Baldwin and Oceanside, the fire was quickly knocked down and placed under control. All operations were under the direction of 2nd Assistant Chief Gonzalez [2102]. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
