Freeport House Fire 04/25/2021

On Sunday, April 25th at just before 9p, the Freeport Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a house fire at the intersection of North Brookside Ave and Maxson Ave. 3rd Assistant Chief Gonzalez [2103] was quickly on scene and transmitted a Signal 10 with smoke from the 2nd floor. Engine 216 was first due and stretched the initial attack line through the front door being met with heavy fire on the 1st floor. At least 3 lines were stretched to extinguish the fire with the assistance of crews from Baldwin, Merrick, Roosevelt and Oceanside. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
