Freeport House Fire 03/19/2021

On Friday March 19th, just before 4:00p, the Freeport Fire Department was dispatched to an unknown type fire on North Ocean Ave. Multiple Chiefs were quickly on the road and advised by Firecom that they had received a 911 hangup for a fire. While en route, Chief of Department Braun [2100] advised that Police on scene were reporting a kitchen fire and Transmitted a Signal 10 (working fire). Engine 216 was first due and stretched the initial line into the kitchen to quickly extinguish the fire. The fire was placed under control in approximately 15 minutes with the assistance of crews from Baldwin and Merrick.
