Freeport House Fire 03/02/2021

On Tuesday, March 2nd at approximately 10:40p, the Freeport Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a basement fire on South Ocean Ave. Multiple units were immediately on the road with Chief of Department Braun [2100] quickly on the scene advising he had fire under the porch. Engine 216 and Ladder 218 were quickly on scene and upon investigation, a confirmed fire was found under the porch and under the siding and a Signal 10 was transmitted. At least 2 lines were stretched to extinguish the fire with extensive overhaul conducted. The fire was placed under control in approximately 30 minutes with the cause of the fire under investigation.
