Mineola Building Fire 07/10/2022

On Sunday, July 10th at approximately 10:50p, the Mineola Fire Department was dispatched to a reported building fire on Willis Ave. 1st Assistant Chief Magalhaes [1601] quickly arrived on scene to find fire showing from a basement window of a 1 story commercial building and a Signal 10 was transmitted. Engine 162 was quickly on scene and stretched 1 handline to extinguish the fire in the window, preventing any further spread into the basement of the building. With the assistance of crews from Garden City, Carle Place, East Williston and Williston Park, the fire was quickly knocked down and placed under control in under 30 minutes with overhaul conducted by crews on scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
