Mineola Apartment Fire 01/10/2022
On Monday, January 10th at 8:55a, the Mineola Fire Department was dispatched to an unknown type fire on Lincoln Ave. Chief of Department Martone Jr [1600] and his Assistant Chiefs were quickly on scene and transmitted a Signal 10 for fire in a 1st floor apartment. Engine 162 was first due and stretched the initial line through the front door to begin extinguishing the fire while truck crews forced doors to check for extension to adjoining apartments. With the assistance of crews from Williston Park, Garden City and Carle Place, the fire was placed under control in approximately 20 minutes with 2 lines stretched and placed into operation. 1 dog was removed and treated by crews on scene before being transported to a local animal hospital by Nassau County Police. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
