Mineola Building Fire 03/15/2020

On Sunday March 15th at just before 8pm, the Mineola Fire Department was dispatched to a report of an unknown type fire in the parking garage at 101 Main St. Upon arrival, the first due chiefs found a fully involved vehicle fire in the garage and subsequently fire in the building itself and transmitted a Signal 10 (working fire) which quickly moved to a 2nd Alarm. Multiple departments assisted in battling the quickly advancing fire which spanned across 4 storefronts and to a closely adjoining building behind. The fire ultimately rose to a 5th alarm and took just under 5 hours to be placed under control utilizing hand lines and master streams.
